Niyam is coming soon. The app details below describe the current Android implementation. iPhone features and data practices will be described before its release.

Privacy policy

Gilliy publishes Niyam. This policy covers the Niyam app and this product website.

Information on your device

Guest routines, tasks, completion history and preferences are stored locally. Routines can contain names, descriptions, tags, timing, images and video links that you choose to add. Local routine creation and timers do not require an account. Guest use does not mean that all app features are offline or that no technical information is collected.

The current Android app excludes its app data from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes local app data. Unpublished routines, local completion history and preferences are not automatically restored by signing in.

Google sign-in and publisher applications

If you sign in, Firebase Authentication processes your Google account identity, including your account identifier, name, email address and available profile information. Signing in does not automatically publish or synchronize your routines.

If you apply for publisher access, we receive your expertise statement, the social profile links you provide, your account details and acceptance of the publishing guidelines. Application status, review reasons and submission history are stored to manage publisher access.

Publishing and public routines

Publishing is an explicit action available to approved publishers. Published routine and task content, including names, author attribution, descriptions, tags, timing, selected images and video links, is uploaded for public discovery. We also process ownership and publication records to manage updates and access.

Other people can view and import published routines. Do not publish private information or content you do not have permission to share. Unpublishing removes a routine from the public collection; it does not remove copies that others have already imported or saved. Deleting a local routine and removing its public version are separate actions.

Technical information and third-party services

The Android app includes Google Analytics for Firebase. This service can process app interactions, installation or device identifiers, device and operating-system details, and approximate location derived from network information. Firebase also supplies authentication, cloud storage and services used to discover and publish routines. Service providers may process request and diagnostic information when these features connect to their services.

Playing a linked YouTube video connects to YouTube inside the app, where Google’s privacy practices apply. The app uses your device’s text-to-speech service for spoken task names; that service’s processing depends on your chosen engine and settings.

Support and this website

If you email us, we receive your message and the information you include. The Android feedback action prepares an email with the app version, device details and operating-system version, which you can review before sending.

This Niyam website does not include an analytics or advertising script. The hosting provider processes requests needed to deliver the pages and assets, which can include IP addresses and browser information. Following a link to Gilliy, Namly, Google or another service takes you to a site with its own data practices.

Storage and your choices

Local information remains on your device until removed. Published content and account-related records are stored separately from local routines. Signing out, clearing app storage or uninstalling does not delete those cloud records or previously processed analytics information.

Use the request process below for questions about information associated with you, retention, correction or deletion. Some technical information is linked to an installation rather than an email address and may require additional information to locate.

Account and data requests

You can request deletion of your Niyam account and associated data by emailing [email protected] with the subject Niyam account and data deletion. You do not need to reinstall the app.

Send the request from the email address you use to sign in to Niyam, where possible.
Say whether you want your account and associated data deleted, or need help with particular information or a public routine.
Do not send your password, sign-in codes or other credentials. We may need to verify account ownership before acting.

Account-related information can include the Niyam authentication record, publisher application and review records, published routines and uploaded images. Any information that cannot be identified or removed, or that needs to be retained, must be explained when handling your request.

This request concerns your Niyam account, not your Google account. Local data on your devices and copies of public routines saved by other people are separate. For local removal, delete routines in the app or clear Niyam’s storage through Android settings.

Use Niyam responsibly and only where you can agree to these terms. Niyam provides tools to organize and follow routines. You are responsible for choosing tasks, timing and activities appropriate to your circumstances.

Routines and safety

A routine or video is not a substitute for professional advice. Assess an activity before following it and stop if it is unsafe for you. A routine appearing in public discovery does not guarantee its accuracy, safety or suitability.

Publishing guidelines

Publish only content you created or have permission to share, including images and linked material. Give appropriate attribution.
Represent your experience and qualifications honestly. Avoid misleading claims or instructions that could cause harm.
Do not publish private personal information, abusive or discriminatory content, illegal material, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
Publishing makes your submitted content available for others to view and import through Niyam. Only submit content you are willing and entitled to make available this way.
Publisher access requires approval and can be revoked. Content that breaches these guidelines may be removed.

Report a public routine or rights concern to [email protected], including enough information to identify it.

Your local library and external services

Niyam does not automatically back up your local library. Take this into account before clearing storage, uninstalling or changing devices. Linked videos and other external services are subject to their providers’ terms and availability.
